Edmond Teens Win World Muay Thai Kickboxing Championships

Edmond, Oklahoma- On June 22nd, Brandon Vann and Cade Garrett traveled to Des Moines, Iowa to compete in the largest Muay Thai kickboxing tournament in North America.

The annual TBA World Muay Thai Classic is a proving ground for amateur kickboxers wanting to test themselves against the toughest opponents.  The tournament is grueling three day event with over 500 competitors representing 180 different gyms. 

Defeating extremely tough opponents in the finals Cade Garrett and Brandon Vann became World Champions.

Cade Garrett (Age 14) is a 3x Muay Thai World Champion.

Brandon Vann (Age 13) is a 2x Muay Thai World Champion.

Both athletes train at Pride Mixed Martial Arts in Edmond, Oklahoma under Coach Jason Epps.

About the TBA World Muay Thai World Classic Tournament 

The TBA (Thai Boxing Association) was founded by Chai Sirisute, the man credited with bringing the sport of Thai Boxing to America almost fifty years ago.

The first tournament held in 2007, started with 100 fighters has grown to become the largest amateur Muay Thai tournament in North America with 543 fighters competed this year representing 180 different gyms.
