Coach Jason Epps

Head Coach at Pride Mixed Martial Arts in Edmond, Oklahoma. At nine years old Jason Epps enrolled in a martial arts class hoping he would learn to protect himself from the neighborhood bullies that terrorized him on a daily basis. Not only did the martial arts teach him self-defense, it taught him how to be more disciplined, confident, and self-controlled. The Martial Arts soon became a passion that would define his life.

Teaching is more than a passion for him. He knows firsthand that the values and principles, taught through the martial arts, are life changing.  Coach Epps' purpose and mission for Pride Mixed Martial Arts is to empower his students to live life without limits or compromise.

Coach Epps is also a 4x Undefeated Texas Kickboxing Champion and 2x Texas Full Contact Karate Champion. He is also a multiple Oklahoma and Texas State Judo Champion.

Coach Jessica Cargill

Coach Jesse Cargill started her training at Pride soon after enrolling her own children at the ages of 4 and 6, both of which have earned their Black Belts.  She earned her Black Belt under Mr. Epps in 2009, and was promoted to 2nd Degree Black Belt in 2011.

Coach Jesse is the Program Director for Pride Mixed Martial Arts.  With an extensive background working with children and teens, Coach Jesse lives out her passion of teaching kids on a daily basis.  Prior to teaching at Pride, Coach Jesse operated a successful home daycare for eight years. Expanding her life's mission, she used her love and knowledge of horses to help troubled teens at a boy's home using equine therapy.  

Coach Jesse is truly an inspiration.  She became the 2012 IKF Kickboxing Women’s Super Light Weight World Champion at age 38!  No easy feat, considering most of her opponents were in their twenties!  

Her drive and passion to empower women has led her to develop a women's personal protection program called Fierce and Fearless!  Teaching women rape preventing an self defense through workshops and seminars.

She is the spokeswoman for Designing a Safer Woman, a collaborative women's safety project empower and educate women and help them design personal protection plans, based on their lifestyles.

Coach Kannon Manis

Kannon Manis, also known as Coach Monkey -a nickname coined by Coach Epps 10 years ago, has been studying martial arts under Jason Epps for 14 years.  He first training at age 5 alongside his dad, Dustin Manis.  Since then his father, mother, sister, and two brothers have all earned Black Belts under Coach Epps.  Kannon is the senior Black Belt at Pride.

Coach Monkey loves working with kids, and has been involved with several organizations that focus on reaching out to inner city kids.  He has involved in missions work through Reaching Souls International.  Teaching and coaching the martial arts is his biggest passion.  Kannon has a great gift at developing young leaders.

In addition to my continued training with Coach Epps, Kannon is a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Rafael Lovato Jr and an Apprentice Instructor in Warrior's Way International under Guro Harley Elmore.

Coach Deak Harris

Coach Deak Harris is a father of three and a leader of men!  His life reads like a novel, he played football in college, was a Squad leader of small group special operations (SOCOM) combat teams, and has lived all over the world including South Korea, Australia, and Singapore.  

Prior to Coaching at Pride spent 25 years in the Energy industry in various leadership roles including Vice President with Dresser Inc. and Senior executive in GE.  Coach Deak spent 4.5 years with the 3rd Ranger Battalion; an elite unit within the special operations community. 

  • Graduated from the US Army’s prestigious Ranger School, Airborne (Jump) school, and SERE school
  • Completed over 200 airborne jumps

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt

Coach Deak's relationship with Christ is most paramount.  He is actively involved in his Church, Ariel Ministries pastored by his father Nick Harris.
